Fasinating website. We have friends that live by the Lake year round and we visit yearly. We love seeing our friends, sharing some family time and playing in the water. I was very interested in the history of the lake and was pleased at all the great things that are posted here.

What a great web site! The pictures of Hansons brought back so many memories. I spent every summer as a child at our cottage on Ridge Ave. Those were some of the best years of my life.

My grandparents lived at Harveys lake for a long time. They rented boats there, dredged the lake at one point and had a business called Lake front Lawn mower repair. It was a gas station and a small store just up the street from hansons. I want to say the best times of my life was spent there. Watching the people on the lake, Fishing and going to hansons. We even saw Chuby Checker there.... a long time ago. Love the lake.... wish I coukld live there now.

i spent many summers in the early 50's at harveys lake. i remember sandy beach and the drive in theater. the merry go round at the amusement park was my favorite ride. also, i loved the pizza at the pizzaria . i hope to return and see what changes have taken place. from what i have been told by my neighbors who came from there that there are some magnificent homes along the lake. just remember that i learned to swim in the lake too!

Great website. The best times of my life were spent at Harvey's Lake at my Grandparents cottage on Carpenter Road. We would spend the day at Old Sandy Bottom Beach and then at night head over to Hanson's. Of course Grotto pizza was always part of our vacations. We could walk there from the cottage. I wish there was more public access to the lake other than just the boat ramp. we are fortunate it is still there. Bring back the Drive in Theater ! Thanks for this website it brings back so many memories. I have lots of old movies of the lake, Hanson's etc. Some day I will have to get them posted.

What a great website. I spent every summer at the lake with my Grandmother and my Great Aunts. This was mainly during the 70's. I also had several other family members that lived at the Lake year round. I have fond memories of walking to the little country store for candy, swimming down at the dock, eating Joes Pizza, Fishing with bread doe that I would get at Joes Pizza. going to Bingo to watch my Aunt play and running around the Arcade at Sunset, and of course Hansons! Those were the days!

My Grandfather David Huthmaker built a cottage on Park St.about a block from Hansons in the 1930s. Spent many wonderful summers out there until the late 60s and the water pollution scare in the lake.
