"Bill" Casterline 1910-2002, the last ice harvester on Harvey's Lake.

A Local Industry
Prior to the wide adoption of mechanical
refridgeration in the 1940s, natural ice was used in homes and
businesses, and for rail transport. Most lakes supported ice
harvesting operations in the winter months. The Harvey's Lake industry
reached its peak in the 1920s.
